Abstract

Abstract. — Nine species of pseudoscorpions associated with living and dead slash pine, Pinus elliottii Eng., in south central Florida were studied with respect to distribution and species diversity. Trees offering the greatest diversity of bark microhabitats have the greatest species diversity. Most of this diversity is in the fauna of the flake bark, which is the commonest and least patchily distributed bark microhabitat. However, some species may be unable to utilize this micro- habitat unless other types of bark microhabitats are available simultaneously.
