Abstract
The relationship between Rabbi Saul Levy Mortera and Benedictus de Spinoza has been alluded to by many scholars, but it has not been studied in detail. I researched Mortera's theological writings and discovered that his monotheistic critique of Christianity paved the way for Spinoza's materialism.
