dc.description.abstractThe Dynamic Kingdon Trap is an apparatus designed for the permanent storage of charged particles. To confine particles, this trap uses the ponderomotive force due to an AC electric field, and electric potential due to a DC electric field. Through numerical analysis it was shown that the dynamic Kingdon trap was practical for laboratory use. Design, and construction of a dynamic Kingdon trap has been completed and the testing process is currently under way.
