Different bubble generation methods are studied to determine their effect upon the shape and path of a bubble. To do this, we study the shape and velocity of air bubbles rising in distilled water. This research focused on a previous experiment by Dr. Mingming Wu and Dr. Morteza Gharib. In their experiment it was shown that a bubble's shape and path are affected by the method in which the bubble is generated. Our goal is to provide further evidence that the bubble generation mechanism also has an effect. This summer, we designed and built experimental apparatus and automated much of the experiment to aid in the collection of data.
