    Abstract
Five species of the colubrid snake genus Tantilla are now known from Nicaragua. With the exception of T. annulata (not reported from Nicaragua since its original description) all known species of the genus are treated here. A key for the identification of all Nicaraguan species of Tantilla is provided.
