    Abstract
In my presentation I first explore the reasoning behind why most economists have called for immigration reform. There are four main negative effects of the U.S. immigration policy that hurt the country in some fashion. My solution is to establish a point based immigration policy that would create a high-volume skilled immigrant flow. Through my analysis of a prior failed attempt at immigration reform, I am able to offer recommendations for any future legislation on a point-based immigration system
