    Abstract
We conducted a series of cyclic voltammetry assays to determine how electrochemical sensors interface with modified DNA electrode surfaces. The main focus was to determine how Bleomycin Trihydrochloride, a chemotherapeutic antibiotic, cleaves DNA and how the photodynamic properties of Rhenium Tricarbonyl affect DNA. We also discovered the synthetic process of creating the Rhenium compound that we used with the DNA. Though we have not determined the DNA-cleaving mechanism of Bleomycin, we have observed its electrochemical properties with and without oxygen.
