    Abstract
I will conduct research in Quito, Ecuador focusing on the indigenous organization, the CONAIE (The Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador) to see why they have become a potent political figure in Ecuador and if this political power will grow further or begin to decline. I plan on interviewing members and leaders of the CONAIE, journalists, academics, politicians, and a vast array of other individuals who will positively contribute to my investigation.
