Abstract
Museum specimens of Bufo boreas from southern California were ex-

amined for helminths. The helminth fauna consisted of one trematode species,

Haematoloechus kernensis, one cestode species, Distoichometra bufonis, six nem-

atode species, Aplectana itzocanensis, Cosmocercoides variabilis, Falcaustra in-

glisi, Oswaldocruzia pipiens, Rhabdias americanus, Physaloptera sp. (third stage

larvae only). Helminths found in B. boreas are generalists occurring in other

anuran species. Bufo boreas represents a new host record for H. kernensis, A.

itzocanensis, F. inglisi, and Physaloptera sp. (larvae).
