Abstract
Procyonids, talpids, or chiropterans have not previously been recorded from the late Pleistocene Rancho La Brea asphalt deposits in Hancock Park, Los Angeles, California (Stock, 1956). Re-examination of the existing collection and continuing excavation have produced specimens referable to Bassariscus astutus, Procyon lot or, Scapanus latimanus, and Lasiurus cinereus', all of which have modern distributions including the Rancho La Brea area.
